Hunt-Scanlon Names Richard Floersch of McDonald’s Corporation as 2008 Human Resource Leadership Award Recipient |
Stamford, CT, February 7, 2008 Hunt-Scanlon Advisors, the leading provider of news, information and analysis on the executive search and human capital industries, announced today that they will present Richard Floersch, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at McDonald’s Corporation, with the 2008 Hunt-Scanlon Human Resource Leadership Award. Since joining McDonald’s Corporation in 2003, Mr. Floersch has worked closely with McDonald’s senior management and global HR teams to develop programs that support the Company’s Plan to Win strategies. The specific focus areas have included restaurant people programs that drive employee engagement, rewards programs that support pay for performance, effective talent management and leadership development and enhanced employment branding programs. “I am honored to accept this award on behalf of the entire McDonald’s HR Management Team,” says Mr. Floersch. “We are very proud of our accomplishments over the past four to five years in supporting the McDonald’s revitalization program. Having talented and engaged people has been an important ingredient to our success.” Mr. Floersch joined McDonald’s Corporation in 2003 from Kraft Foods International, where he had served as senior vice president of human resources since 1998. In this role, Mr. Floersch oversaw all international HR functions of this Fortune 100 company, which employs 50,000 personnel in 66 countries. Previous to this, he had worked at Phillip Morris as vice president of corporate compensation. His earlier experience included stints at General Foods, International Playtex and HR Consulting. Believing strongly in the importance and function of human resources, Mr. Floersch is an active member of the Board of Directors for the HR Policy Association, a public policy advocacy organization that holds memberships with the chief human resource officers from more than 260 principal companies across the United States. Mr. Floersch earned a bachelor’s degree in science and masters in business administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
