Hunt-Scanlon To Honor Lea N. Soupata of UPS With 2005 Human Capital Award

Stamford, CT, June 15, 2005 Hunt-Scanlon Advisors, the nation's leader in providing executive recruitment market intelligence to senior-level executives, human resource professionals and executive recruiters, will present Lea N. In her 36 years at UPS, Ms. Soupata has risen through the ranks of the organization, from delivery driver to a member of the board of directors. As senior vice president of people programs at UPS, she oversees a human resource function well-known for better than average salaries and benefits, as well as providing healthcare and stock buy-ins to part-time workers. Ms. Soupata worked closely with Presidents Clinton and Bush on the Welfare to Work program at UPS. Through this effort, 60,000 people were taken off of federal aid and placed in positions at UPS.
