| March 16, 2005 Hunt-Scanlon Ranks Korn/Ferry No. 1 Headhunter In The U.S. and Worldwide Stamford, CT, March 16, 2005 Statistical analysis conducted by recruiting industry tracking firm Hunt-Scanlon Advisors indicates that in calendar year 2004 Korn/Ferry International catapulted ahead of its search industry rivals to reclaim the No.1 headhunting ranking in both the U.S. and Worldwide. It is the first time since 2000 the industry's most robust year that Korn/Ferry has held both top rankings simultaneously. Korn/Ferry, the perennial recruiting leader that fell on hard times, reported a meteoric rise in revenues to take both industry leadership positions in 2004. In the U.S., the firm reported a 31 percent rise in revenues, to $214 million $6 million ahead of its closest competitor. Worldwide, Korn/Ferry reported $438 million in recruiting revenue, a 38 percent jump from the previous year and $60 million ahead of its nearest rival. As a group, the top five worldwide search firms brought in nearly $400 million more in headhunting-related fees in 2004 than they did the year before a gain of almost 30 percent. In the U.S., 70 percent of the top 25 firms tracked by Hunt-Scanlon reported double digit gains for the year. "The last time we saw this many double digits was in 2001," said Scott A. Scanlon, chairman and CEO of Hunt-Scanlon. "But they were double digit losses. To say the least, this has been quite a turnaround year for just about everyone." The figures this year clearly point to the beginning of better times for the recruiting business. "Momentum has finally shifted and recruiters are moving the ball quickly up court to take advantage," said Mr. Scanlon. While Korn/Ferry and all their rivals as a whole remain hundreds of millions of dollars short of the revenue figures they reported in 2000, their high watermark, "as a whole the industry is closing in fast on that record year," said Mr. Scanlon. "Barring any unforeseen cataclysmic event, another year or two and I think we'll see things back to where the good times left off."
