Hunt-Scanlon Posts Annual Recruiting Industry Rankings Online

Stamford, CT, March 25, 2003 - The official annual rankings of the executive search industry were posted online today by the recruiting industry tracking firm Hunt-Scanlon Advisors. A preliminary analysis of the results reveals 2002 was a mixed year for the recruiting industry as some firms recorded their second consecutive year of double-digit revenue declines, while others posted solid gains. One encouraging sign is productivity improved in 2002, as average fees per consultant rose almost four percent among the Top 10 firms. "This suggests high end search work has prevailed during the industry downturn, while assignments for mid-level and support positions have dwindled considerably," said Brian P. Lee, chief market strategist. "Spencer Stuart appears to be the clear beneficiary as they recorded the highest average fees per consultant and moved significantly closer to the No. 2 position in the U.S."

This year's industry rankings were compiled from a combination of public and private resources and represent the most comprehensive statistics available on the executive search industry.
