Hunt-Scanlon Hosts Sold-Out Human Capital Conference; Pfizer Chief Receives Coveted Hunt-Scanlon Award

Stamford, CT, October 10, 2002 — Hunt-Scanlon Advisors, a market research firm tracking the human capital and executive recruiting industries, played host to a sell-out audience of senior-level executives who participated in a lively one-hour,15-minute Q&A session with former GE chairman John F. Welch Jr. during Hunt-Scanlon's second annual Human Capital Advantage conference. The day-and-a-half event, "Achieving Human Capital Advantage," took place at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York and gathered almost 300 corporate executives and recruiters to discuss how winning companies continue to make investing in their human capital a top priority.

In addition to the conference highlight of Mr. Welch's keynote address, Pfizer chairman and CEO Henry McKinnell Jr. accepted the 2002 Hunt-Scanlon Human Capital Advantage Award for his efforts in creating a human capital culture that is loyal, motivated and dedicated to a philosophy that places client satisfaction first.

The audience was comprised of almost 300 attendees representing over 100 corporations, executive search firms, staffing service providers, investment banks, venture capital firms and major media outlets. Approximately 38 percent of the attendees were in the corporate HR function, 42 percent of the attendees were executive search consultants and the remaining 20 percent provided related human capital management consulting services. Twenty-one percent of the audience members carried the title CEO, President or Chairman. Another 23 percent held the title of SVP or VP, while another 26 percent were managing directors or directors of their firms. Complete coverage of this event appears in the October issue of Executive Search Review.
