Hunt-Scanlon Human Capital Forum Demonstrates Increasing Need for Effective Management of Human Assets

Stamford, CT, February 14, 2001 - Hunt-Scanlon Advisors, a leading market research firm and online data provider to the executive recruiting industry, successfully launched its Human Capital conference series last week with a two-day forum held at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. The event, "Achieving Human Capital Advantage," represented the first in a series of executive-level conferences in the human capital industry.

Significant highlights from the event included a keynote address entitled, "The CEO as Chief Recruiting Officer," delivered by Charles Lee, chairman and co-CEO of Verizon Communications. PepsiCo CFO and president-designate Indra Nooyi was honored at the event as the recipient of Hunt-Scanlon's 2001 Human Capital Advantage Award, which recognizes excellence in recruiting and developing superior management teams that lead to increased shareholder value.

The "Human Capital Advantage Forum" was sponsored by Fortune Magazine, along with Heidrick & Struggles International, chiefmonster.com, Cluen Corporation, Ninth House Network, Futurestep, Hotjobs and Streetjobs.com and attracted more than 300 attendees representing over 100 corporations, executive search firms, staffing service providers, investment banks, venture capital firms and major media outlets. Approximately 40 percent of the attendees were in the corporate HR function, while the remaining 60 percent in attendance were executives in recruiting, staffing and other related consulting services. Twenty percent of the audience members carried the title CEO, President or Chairman. Another seven percent held the title of VP or SVP, while another 22 percent were managing directors or directors.

"The size and diversity of our audience demonstrates there is a highly influential group of individuals who understand the growing importance corporate management places on the effective oversight of human capital assets," said Hunt-Scanlon chairman and CEO Scott A. Scanlon.
