Heidrick Joins Spencer Stuart To Lead Industrial Practice In North America

Robert Heidrick, a 25-year search industry veteran, has joined executive search firm Spencer Stuart as vice chairman and managing director of the Industrial Practice for North America. The son of Heidrick & Struggles' co-founder Gardner Heidrick, Robert Heidrick owned and operated a Chicago-based boutique firm, Robert Heidrick Associates, from 1977 through 1982. When the senior Mr. Heidrick left Heidrick & Struggles in 1982, the father-and-son team formed The Heidrick Partners, also a Chicago-based boutique. The Heidrick Partners was acquired by Heidrick & Struggles in 1998. At Spencer Stuart, as vice chairman and managing director of the firm's industrial practice, North America — a newly created position — Mr. Heidrick will lead the practice and formalize its structure.
