| November 21, 2000 Forty Percent Of Corporate Officers Are Women At Four Fortune 500 Companies Four of the companies in the Fortune 500 employ women in more than forty percent of all corporate officer jobs, according to a recent analysis conducted by research organization Catalyst in its 2000 Catalyst Census of Women Corporate Officers and Top Earners. While four out of 500 doesn't sound like much, it is progress, compared to the results of the first survey, conducted five years ago. Then, 115 of the Fortune 500 companies had no women officers. Today, 90 of the Fortune 500 companies have no female officers. What's more, ten percent, or 50, of Fortune 500 companies have women holding a quarter or more of corporate officer titles. |
