TMP Worldwide's Monster.com Acquires Online College Recruitment Firm, JOBTRAK

Monster.com, the online career site owned by TMP Worldwide/(NASDAQ:TMPW) has acquired JOBTRAK, a privately held, Internet-based college-recruitment firm begun in 1988. The Los Angeles-headquartered company's revenues come from job-postings paid for by prospective employers that are listed on Jobtrak.com's proprietary database. Jobtrak in 1999 introduced InterviewTrak, a Web-based software program used by college recruitment offices in scheduling appointments. Terms and conditions of the acquisition were not disclosed. The Jobtrak purchase is Monster.com's second such deal in the collegiate area: in 1998, TMP Worldwide bought StudentCenter.com, which was integrated into Monster.com.
